Secret Sumatra is Indo’s newest luxury surf resort, based in Krui, South Sumatra with The Peak (which we gave the name), a perfect right hander located directly out front with a left across the channel, both are offshore in the SE tradewinds. We are in a central location, only a 10 minute drive from Mandiri Beach, 2 minutes from Krui Left and Krui right and we’re just a 20 min drive from the long left hand point break, Ujung Bocur.

Around 20 years back we discovered and also gave the names to Honey Smacks, Leftovers and a bunch of other spots that we won’t name here. Due to our central location, Jimmys right, our furthest spot north is only a 40 min drive and Sumatran Pipe, our furthest wave south is only a 40 minute drive. The resort is suited to solo surfers, a bunch of mates on a surf trip and couples looking for an idyllic spot to get away from it all, in a zone thats abundant with perfect waves.

After living out here going on nearly two decades we know what you need out here to have the right amount of comfort while still feeling that local flavour so we’ve infused some local style and colours into something we’d call luxury in the jungle, great for bringing the mrs over.
